Audi Q5: Seat Pan Cover and Cushion, Separating

Lower Seat Frame Cover and Cushion, Separating, Standard, Comfort, Folding Seat

Special tools and workshop equipment required

  • Upholstery Clip Pliers -VAG1634-

Removing

- Remove the seat cover and cushion:

  • Standard/Comfort Seat. Refer to → Chapter "Seat Pan Cover and Upholstery, Removing and Installing, Standard, Comfort Seat".
  • Folding seat. Refer to → Chapter "Lower Seat Frame Cover and Cushion, Removing and Installing, Folding Seat".

- Cut through the upholstery clips -3- using pliers -4-.

- Remove the cover -1- from the cushion -2-.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Make sure the contour strips fit correctly and the cover is not wrinkled.

- Use Upholstery Clip Pliers -VAG1634- to install the new upholstery clips.

Lower Seat Frame Cover and Cushion, Separating, Sport Seat

Special tools and workshop equipment required

  • Upholstery Clip Pliers -VAG1634-

Removing

- Remove the cover and upholstery from the seat pan and seat depth adjuster. Refer to → Chapter "Lower Seat Frame Cover and Cushion, Removing and Installing, Sport Seat".

- Unclip the retaining strips -1, 2, 3 and 4-.

- Remove the support -5- and the seat depth adjustment from the cover.

- Cut through the upholstery clips -3- using pliers -4-.

- Remove the cover -1- from the cushion -2-.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Make sure the contour strips fit correctly and the cover is not wrinkled.

- Use Upholstery Clip Pliers -VAG1634- to install the new upholstery clips.

Backrest Cover and Cushion, Separating

Special tools and workshop equipment required

  • Upholstery Clip Pliers -VAG1634-

Removing

- Remove the seat backrest cover and cushion:

  • Standard/Comfort/Sport seat. Refer to → Chapter "Backrest Cover and Upholstery, Removing and Installing, Standard, Comfort, Sport Seat".
  • Folding seat. Refer to → Chapter "Backrest Cover and Cushion, Removing and Installing, Folding Seat".

- Cut through the upholstery clips -3- using pliers -4-.

- Remove the cover -1- from the cushion -2-.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Make sure the contour strips fit correctly and the cover is not wrinkled.

- Use Upholstery Clip Pliers -VAG1634- to install the new upholstery clips.
