Audi Q5: Rear Motor Support and Sun Shade Cable, Removing and Installing
Removing
- Remove the headliner. Refer to → Body Interior; Rep. Gr.70; Roof Trim Panels; Headliner, Removing and Installing.
- Remove the sunroof shade motor. Refer to → Chapter "Roof Shade Control Module - J394-, Removing and Installing".
- Remove the sunroof shade. Refer to → Chapter "Sunroof Shade, Removing and Installing".
- Remove the screws -arrows- for the cable covers -1- and -3- (2 Nm).
- Remove the cable covers -1- and -3- from the frame -4-.
- Pull the cables for the sunroof shade out of the guide tubes -3- and motor support -5-.
- Pry the motor support -5- out of the frame -1- with a screwdriver.
- Remove the guide tube -1- from the bracket -4- in the frame -2-.
- Remove the cable -3- from the sun shade rail -5-.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal.
Note
Do not lubricate the motor support and the cables for the sunroof shade.
- Install the sunroof shade. Refer to → Chapter "Sunroof Shade, Removing and Installing".
- Install the sunroof shade motor. Refer to → Chapter "Roof Shade Control Module - J394-, Removing and Installing".
- Install the headliner. Refer to → Body Interior; Rep. Gr.70; Roof Trim Panels; Headliner, Removing and Installing.
- Perform an adaptation on the motors for the sunroof and the sunroof shade after completing the procedure. Refer to → Chapter "Power Sunroof Control Module -J245-, Programming" for the sunroof motor and → Chapter "Roof Shade Control Module - J394-, Programming" for the sunroof shade motor.
